“Fumble” is an ongoing exploration of the self through the relationship between “order” and “disorder.” The work is based on the concept that people are neither singular nor stable beings, but contradictory individuals constantly wavering between obedience, doubt, repression, and growth. In the work, the “self” is like a seed buried in the soil: on one hand, it grows according to established rules, shaped by time, environment, and social order into what it is “instructed” to become. On the other hand, it continually harbors a questioning of those rules, along with unease toward and resistance against predetermined paths. This contradiction is not oppositional, but symbiotic. Order gives the seed structure, while disorder grants it the power to break through.
